Duke University’s Department of Dermatology has an immediate need for a Postdoctoral Associate under Dr. Julia Oh’s lab. This position is on – site.
Minimum Requirements:
Ph.D or equivalent doctorate (e.g. ScD., M.D., D.V.M), Should be used for post-doctoral fellows if the candidate has completed all of the requirements for a degree, but the degree has not been formally conferred, the candidate may present evidence of completion of the degree requirement, together with a statement documenting the date on which the degree is to be conferred.

Position Description:
Tasks
- Conduct independent research under the supervision of a principal investigator (Dr. Julia Oh) with the expectation of establishing independent funding (fellowships, training grants, etc.).
- Design and execute ‘omics-informed experiments to investigate the human skin and respiratory microbiome, microbial genetics, host-microbe interactions and/or other areas of interest to the laboratory.
- Analyze and interpret data using statistical and bioinformatic tools.
- Write and submit research publications and grant proposals.
- Present research findings at lab meeting, domestic and international conferences, and seminars.
- Mentor and train graduate and undergraduate students in laboratory techniques.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within the research group or across institutions.
- Remain updated with the latest advancements in microbiome research through literature review and professional development.
