Clinical Nurse II- Vascular Surgery

Job Summary:

We are seeking a CLINICAL NURSE II for Duke Vascular Specialists Endovascular Center located in Raleigh, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients. The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Thursday, with no weekends or holidays.

 

 

Job Duties:

 

  • Perform intake with patients to include vital signs, visit information and other clinical information as indicated
  • Administer medications to patients as ordered by providers or by established protocols following the six rights of medication administration
  • Review education information with patients and families based on diagnosis and per provider request
  • Draw blood for the lab
  • Perform Point of Care testing oversight per established protocols including daily QC
  • Stock and maintain inventory of patient care supplies and linen
  • Clean and stock rooms
  • Float in practice to other specialties to cover patient and provider needs as delegated by Health Center Administrator, Nurse Manager, charge nurse or others as delegated by clinic leadership
  • Perform administrative duties such as patient supply forms, prescription refills and other triage tasks as needed
  • Work with multidisciplinary team in procedural environment
  • Participate in performance improvement projects 
  • Maintain clinical environment to meet JCAHO and OSHA regulations
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

 

Job Eligibility Requirements:

  • Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program
  • All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within seven years of their start date.
    • Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within seven years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification
  • Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina
  • BLS required
  • Previous experience in procedural sedation preferred
  • Previous experience with vascular/cardiovascular patients preferred
  • Experience with computerized charting systems, Epic Preferred 

 

Job Schedule:

The schedule for this position is day shifts Monday-Thursday 4-10s (no weekends or Duke designated holidays)
