JOB SUMMARY
Perform routine administrative and patient care supportive duties in a Health System medical practice to assist medical staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure office runs smoothly.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Run provider clinic to include rooming patients; taking medical histories; vitals assessment; pain assessment; medication reconciliation; documenting medications given in Epic; patient education; preparing patients for procedures; order entry.
- Handle provider phone calls and Epic InBasket messages utilizing standard protocols
- Complete insurance and disability paperwork; handle correspondence
- Update patient medical records
- Perform other administrative duties as directed
- Serve as back up tech in procedure room. Perform a variety of technical tasks involving the operation of c-arm equipment under the direction of a physician. Practices radiation safety techniques by wearing a radiation monitoring badge and lead protection.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
- High school or GED graduation required.
- Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.
- BLS required
