JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a CLINICAL NURSE II at Duke Neurosurgery, located in Morrisville, NC is looking for CNII position to cross cover Neurosurgery, Spine and Pain, and Neurology. Plenty of free parking available. Close to 540 Morrisville, I-40, and the airport.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Room Patients and intake to include medications, history and vital signs
Complete orders as per provider.
Occasional IV start and Suture/Staple removal.
Medication Preparation and Administration.
Delegate tasks and supervise activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers
Set-up and assisting with various procedures.
Assisting with Periprocedural medication clearance for surgical procedures.
Assisting with FMLA/Disability paperwork completion.
Assisting with Providers InBasket management.
Review future clinic schedules, communicate with patients for upcoming appointments and procedures gathering necessary imaging.
Answering calls, medication refills, and prior authorizations as needed.
Monitor for supply and medication expirations dates. Unbox ordered supplies and confirm inventory. Assist with stocking medication rooms and carts.
Pre and Post procedure Education: Provides educational materials, reviews pre-op instructions and ensures understanding of post-op care and recovery expectations.
Pre and Post procedure monitoring.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein set by leadership team.

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Work requires graduation from an accredited Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the BSN program within seven years of their start date.
- Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within seven years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification.
Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required.
Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.

Day shift, Monday-Friday with no evenings, weekends or holidays
