JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Coding/Business Office Assistant (Administrative Clerk) to be an integral member of the Central Carolina Surgery Business Office located in Greensboro, NC.   In this position, you will perform a variety of registration and coding tasks involved in processing medical charges for office visits, scheduled surgery cases, general surgery hospital cases, and trauma surgery hospital cases

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Arrive daily scheduled surgery cases
  • Enter scheduled surgery case accounts to the coding WQ
  • Registers new hospital patients including verification of patient demographic information, insurance verification, and printing of insurance cards from outside hospital Epic system.
  • Enters hospital consult and surgery patient cases to the coding WQ.
  • Retrieves pathology reports for submission to coders for final charge entry and submission to insurance
  • Contacts outside vendors for missing pathology reports that are required for final diagnosis verification
  • Assists coders in processing office visit charges for new, established and post-op patients.
  • Verifies that appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes are utilized.
  • Maintain documentation by scanning operative notes, pathology reports, and required medical documentation to Epic Maestro Care for final charge entry, unlisted codes which require medical records, and requests from PRMO for records needed for claims denials
  • Perform other duties as needed per request of Administrative Coordinator

 

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Two years of administrative support experience of increasing variety and/or complexity

JOB HOURS

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
