Occupational Summary
This key leadership role manages and coordinates the strategic activities of the hospital’s STAT (Immediate Need) Supply Chain functions. The Manager is responsible for the rapid-response distribution of critical supplies and equipment to clinical units. This position manages a large team to ensure uninterrupted patient care through effective inventory management, linen distribution, and cost containment.
Work Performed
STAT Operations & Team Leadership

Span of Control: Directly oversee and manage a department consisting of 25 Supply Chain Associates and 3 Team Leads.

Manage the overall day-to-day operations of the STAT supply room, ensuring 24/7 readiness for urgent clinical requests.

Oversee the rapid fulfillment and delivery of "STAT" medical supplies, specialty equipment, and emergency stock to life-safety and critical care areas.

Produce high levels of employee satisfaction through cross-training, career planning, and clear communication, specifically focusing on the high-pressure demands of STAT environments.

Apportion workloads equitably and utilize metrics to match associate schedules with peak hospital demand periods.
Process Optimization & Inventory Control

Develop and maintain programs designed to ensure compliance with service delivery standards, reviewing and improving these standards on an ongoing basis.

Manage centralized inventory support, shipping/receiving, courier functions, and linen replenishment within the STAT scope.

Conduct regular inspections of STAT facilities and inventory storage to ensure an uninterrupted flow of supplies and compliance with Joint Commission and internal safety regulations.

Utilize ERP systems (SAP) and supply chain technology (automated cabinets, scanners) to track trends and benchmark performance.

Physical Requirements

Exertional Force: Must have the ability to exert 20 to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and up to 10 lbs constantly.

Cart Management: Requirements to push/pull loaded and unloaded supply carts require up to 100 lbs of exertional force daily.

Mobility: Frequent reaching, lifting, stooping, and bending are required to manage stock in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
-
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Healthcare, or a related field is preferred. (High School Diploma/GED required as minimum).
Experience
-
5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or healthcare leadership/management.

At least 2 of those 5 years must be specifically in supply chain/logistics.

Experience with supply chain technology (bar code scanners, automated supply cabinets, etc.).

Previous experience in JIT (Just in Time) and LUM (Logical Unit of Measure) distribution processes is preferred
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications

Valid State Driver's License required..
