This position will be responsible for performing essential tasks required for the creation and revision of Epic scheduling questionnaires (algorithms).  Individuals in this position will be Cadence certified and report to the Director of DHAS Support Services.

 

Duties include:

  • Serve as a project manager and team lead for scheduling questionnaire (algorithm) design and revisions across Duke Health System. Coordinate related priorities and assignments for the questionnaire team. Delegate programming work to IT Analysts as appropriate, effectively communicating build requirements verbally and in writing.  Ensure that accurate and current build documentation is maintained among the group.
  • Independently coordinate the design of complex scheduling algorithms with departmental, DHAS, and clinical leadership by analyzing workflow, department requirements, and practice standards. Ensure that scheduling algorithms adhere to entity policies and procedures and strategic initiatives.
  • Build complex scheduling algorithms in the Epic system according to agreed upon design.  Follow established IT change control processes to ensure work is moved through the appropriate test environments. Thoroughly test all programming; consistently identify issues prior to moving to production.
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve questionnaire design, documentation, and build processes.
  • Serve as an expert resource on questionnaire technical and operational functionality. Serve as liaison to medical and departmental staff, and DUHS entities for questionnaire related questions.
  • Produce reports and presentations on questionnaire build status and on questionnaire functionality.
  • Serves as consultant and resource to colleagues within DHAS and in other departments on Cadence and questionnaire functionality

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

 

Education

Bachelors degree in a business or health-related field is required.

 

Experience

 

Minimum of 5 years work experience, including 3 years of experience with significant responsibility for performance/ process improvement. Experience leading work teams required. Experience can be supplemented with Master's degree with a Masters being equivalent to two years of experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and abilities 

 

Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate with customers/staff with diverse educational background. Analysis of data and processes for opportunities for improvement. Ability to manage numerous diverse projects simultaneously through effective priority setting, efficient use of time, organization. Knowledge of accreditation standards and regulations related to health care. Attention to detail and accuracy. Computer literacy.
