As a Senior Data Analyst, you will serve as a senior technical analytics developer, helping transform complex data into actionable insights that support strategic priorities across the entire Supply Chain organization.

In this role, you'll design and develop advanced analytics solutions, Power BI dashboards, Python-enabled automation, and enterprise-approved AI tools that improve reporting reliability, accelerate decision-making, and create meaningful business value. You'll collaborate with leaders across sourcing, operations, technology, contracting, inventory, shared services, and other Supply Chain functions to solve complex business challenges through data-driven solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • 4 years of progressive programming or database administration experience to include design, implementation, tuning, backup, and recovery.
  • Experience developing advanced analytics solutions, business intelligence tools, data products, or reporting solutions in a complex organizational environment.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards, data models, visualizations, measures, and reporting solutions.
  • Experience using Python or comparable programming languages to automate reporting, analytics, workflow processes, data preparation, or quality assurance activities.
  • Experience translating business requirements into scalable, sustainable, and repeatable analytics solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and convert data into actionable business insights.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and project management skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Experience supporting Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Procurement, Inventory Management, or related business functions.
  • Experience developing AI-enabled solutions, agentic workflows, automation tools, or machine learning applications using enterprise-approved technologies.
  • Experience training analysts or business users on analytics tools, dashboard sustainment, automation practices, or AI-enabled development methods.
  • Experience designing reusable templates, documentation, coding standards, governance practices, or sustainment processes.
  • Experience working within a complex healthcare, higher education, or enterprise environment.

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will:

  • Design and develop advanced analytics solutions that support Supply Chain operations, sourcing, contracting, inventory management, shared services, technology initiatives, and other key business functions.
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, data models, performance metrics, and visualizations that enable leaders to monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop Python-enabled automation solutions that streamline data preparation, reporting, quality assurance processes, workflow support, and recurring analytics activities.
  • Create enterprise-approved AI-enabled and agentic solutions that improve workflow efficiency, reporting, documentation, and decision readiness.
  • Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to identify opportunities where analytics, automation, and AI can reduce manual effort and improve operational performance.
  • Train and mentor analysts on Power BI development, automation methods, AI-enabled tools, documentation standards, and sustainable development practices.
  • Develop reusable templates, coding standards, dashboard design patterns, documentation, and governance processes that improve analytics team effectiveness and consistency.
  • Ensure data quality, reporting accuracy, reproducibility, governance compliance, and responsible use of analytics and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Supply Chain, Information Technology, Finance, Operations, Sourcing, and other business units to improve data quality and reporting consistency.
  • Translate technical analysis into concise business insights, recommendations, visual storytelling, and actionable plans that support leadership decision-making.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $62,331.00 to USD $132,050.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
