As a Senior Analyst, IT – SAP HR Developer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise HR technology solutions that serve faculty, staff, and administrators across the university.
In this role, you'll join a collaborative team responsible for delivering scalable, technology-driven business solutions within Duke's SAP Human Resources ecosystem. You'll work closely with functional specialists and business stakeholders to analyze requirements, improve business processes, design innovative solutions, and develop high-quality applications that support Duke's evolving HR operations.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Required Experience & Technical Skills
- Extensive SAP ABAP development experience, including Object-Oriented ABAP.
- Experience with Web Dynpro for ABAP, OData services, CDS Views, AMDP, Analytical Queries, RAP, and SAP Fiori/UI5 technologies.
- Deep experience supporting SAP Human Resources solutions, including Infotypes, Payroll Cluster, Floorplan Manager, and HR-related development frameworks.
- Experience with performance tuning, debugging, testing, and source code optimization.
- Expertise working across multiple SAP modules.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux environments, SQL, and SAP HANA databases.

- Experience supporting large-scale HR systems, payroll operations, and workforce management processes.
Work Arrangement
This position is hybrid, with required weekly meetings in Durham, NC.

- Analyze business processes, workflows, and systems to identify opportunities for improvement and develop effective technology solutions.
- Collaborate with functional specialists and business stakeholders to design scalable, maintainable, and high-performing SAP applications.
- Participate in strategic planning efforts for new technologies, applications, enhancements, and long-term development initiatives.
- Design, develop, test, and implement SAP HR applications and integrations across a variety of technologies and platforms.
- Perform system testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization to ensure reliable and efficient application performance.
- Develop technical specifications, design documentation, and solution architecture that clearly communicate functional and technical requirements.
- Support user acceptance testing activities and ensure successful deployment of new solutions and enhancements.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure technical solutions align with business objectives and deliver measurable value to the organization.
- Research emerging SAP technologies and recommend innovative approaches that improve system functionality, performance, and user experience.
