Qualifications: Required
- fluent in English (written and spoken)
- strong listening, observing, and documentation skills
- familiarity with electronic medical record
- basic computer skills
- strong work ethic and attention to detail in a fast-paced clinical environment
- maintain sensitivity and confidentiality with patient information
- high school diploma or equivalent required
Qualifications: Preferred
- college degree- bachelor’s degree or higher
- prior experience in a healthcare setting (1-2years)
Upon hire, the candidate must complete training modules and credentialing as mandated by Duke Hospital and Health System including background check, drug testing, documentation of up-to-date immunizations, and confidentiality agreement.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide manual assistance in navigating the electronic medical record as instructed by the clinical trainee to retrieve information necessary for patient care (50%)
- Provide verbatim documentation of interactions between the clinical trainee and their patients in real time (25%)
- Serve as a reader, scribe, and/or proctor for standardized exams as needed. (25%)
Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $20.00 to USD $25.01.
