STEWARDSHIP COORDINATOR

 

Occupational Summary

 

  • Plan and coordinate a comprehensive stewardship program to engage and steward major and principal gift donors to the Pratt School of Engineering. To this end, the position will also create, manage, and implement volunteer and donor engagement programs.
  • Work Performed
  • Report to donors on non-financial, human-interest-oriented information concerning the utilization of their gifts at Duke University; communicate in writing and in person with individual donors and friends to provide timely information to improve or continue positive relationships.
  • Create and manage novel stewardship programs using diverse media outlets such as video, social media, a s well as traditional methods. Supervise the creation and periodic updates of existing endowment files and supervise research of additional information from library, archives, donor families and other sources in order to update files and develop accurate individual donor profiles.
  • Provide information and articles for press releases and publications to improve donor relations and encourage others to make gifts.
  • Analyze stewardship policies and procedures and propose changes; develop and implement ideas and coordinate with other development staff to increase endowments and generate additional gifts through the utilization of data in files as well as personal contact with donors.
  • Create and manage engagement and volunteer opportunities for top donors to the school such as board meetings, convening task forces, and scheduled meaningful on-campus visits in collaboration with major and principal gift officers within Pratt.
  • Serve as Liaison with Duke Alumni Engagement and Development to ensure stewardship programs in other areas of the University keep appropriate contact with donors to ensure a continuing relationship with the University.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires the skills and knowledge normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree.

Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

 

Experience

 

Work requires one year of experience in fundraising, alumni affairs, public relations, student activities, program administration or a related field to become familiar with activities involved in planning special events or programs.
