Occupational Summary
The Analyst for Capital & Construction Strategic Sourcing will support the sourcing, procurement, and contract management activities related to capital equipment, facilities, and construction projects across Duke University Health System (DUHS). This role will provide analytical, operational, and strategic support to optimize supplier relationships, control costs, and ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements.
Sourcing Analyst in this position will have the following responsibilities:
Sourcing & Procurement Support
- Assist in sourcing initiatives for capital equipment, construction services, and facility-related procurements.
- Gather and analyze market data, supplier capabilities, and pricing trends to support decision-making.
- Support bid processes, including Request for Proposal (RFP) development, bid evaluations, and vendor negotiations.
- Track supplier performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
Financial & Data Analysis
- Analyze spend data, supplier contracts, and cost structures to identify savings and efficiency opportunities.
- Develop financial models to support sourcing decisions, total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluations, and capital project budgeting.
- Prepare reports and dashboards to communicate performance, savings, and compliance.
Contract & Compliance Management
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing supplier agreements in collaboration with sourcing managers.
- Ensure adherence to Duke’s procurement policies, regulatory standards, and contract terms.
- Maintain accurate contract records and monitor key contract milestones, expirations, and renewals.
Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams, including Facilities, Finance, and Clinical Operations, to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
- Support vendor onboarding, relationship management, and issue resolution.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide insights and recommendations.
Supports Capital and Construction Strategic Sourcing Director and Sourcing Managers, as needed to support the teams mission.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: |
Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday), and data visualization tools (e.g., SmartSheet, Power BI, Tableau). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets. Possess a sense of urgency and a proactive, customer based philosophy. Possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to foster/build relationships. Excellent verbal, oral and written communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to listen, accurately process significant amounts of detail and develop strategy for problem resolution Knowledge of Procurement processes and Duke’s financial system preferred, but not required. Desire to thrive within a team of professionals to support Duke. Ability and willingness to travel offsite to participate in site surveys, design and procurement meetings, receiving and installation efforts as necessary. Possess a superior work ethic, ambition, the desire and aptitude to learn, and the ability to effectively multi-task. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities. Understanding of capital procurement, construction contracts, and project budgeting is a plus Ability to read floor plans and understand construction terminology is a plus. Knowledge of medical equipment and clinical understanding is a plus. Ability to approach daily tasks with a positive spirit and ‘can do’ attitude |

Anticipated Pay Range:
Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $58,656.00 to USD $85,000.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
