Occupational Summary
Classification created to permit compensation to individuals performing research on Campus and in the Medical Center using University facilities without detailed supervision. Incumbents may guide the research of others and participate, to a limited degree, in classroom instruction. The use of this classification is reserved for those whose professional stature is equivalent to that of a full professor and may be used only with the approval of the Academic Appointments Sub-Group of the Academic Council. This classification is administered on Campus through the Office of the Provost and in the Medical Center through the Office of the Chancellor for Health Affairs. It is not subject to the Wage and Salary system.
Work Performed
- You will be responsible for leading your own project within the scope of our studies on the chromatin mechanisms that give rise to synapse dysfunction, using iPSC-models of gene mutations that confer risk for autism and intellectual disability. Some of your work may also include working with related mouse genetic models. You will learn bioinformatic methods of genomic data analysis.
- You will be expected to analyze your data arising from these studies and prepare this information for presentation at meetings and for publication.
- You will be expected to participate in mentoring of graduate students within the lab who make contributions to aspects of your research project.
Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training: |
PhD in neurobiology, neuroscience.
