Radiology Supervisor (CT)

Location: Duke University Hospital

2301 Erwin Rd, Durham, NC 27705

Work Schedule: Full-Time, 2nd Shift, Monday - Thursday 10-hour shifts (flexible start/end times based on workload and meetings)

Shift  Coverage: Overlaps end of 1st shift, full mid-shift, and beginning of 3rd shift

 

 

Duke University Health System seeks to hire an experienced CT Technologist with four years in imaging and an additional two years in leadership, who will embrace our mission of Advancing Health Together.  The Duke University Hospital (DUH) campus supports a 1067 bed hospital known for expertise in Inpatient, Urgent Outpatient, OR, Interventional, ED/Trauma, PEDS, Cardiac, Oncology, and Transplant services. We have a total of 20 clinical scanners, including 14 in various locations, 5 in the OR, and 1 portable scanner for Neuro ICU. In this role, you will supervise clinical operations of specific areas of the Imaging Department including, but not limited to: equipment, personnel, scheduling, financial and customer service functions.

 

What you will do:

CTA and PSA Oversight:

• Supervise and coordinate all CT Assistants (CTAs) and Patient Support Associates (PSAs).
• Ensure consistent workflow, quality, and adherence to protocols across all shifts.

Mid-Shift Leadership:

• Serve as the primary supervisor for all mid-shift CT staff.
• Provide leadership and support during the transition between 1st and 3rd shifts.
• Assist in standing up and stabilizing the 2nd shift operations.

Staff Management & Development:

• Directly supervise all mid-shift hires, including onboarding, training, and performance management.
• Conduct regular check-ins and performance evaluations.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

Standard Work Development:

• Lead the creation, implementation, and maintenance of standard work documents related to onboarding and training.
• Ensure all onboarding processes are up-to-date, efficient, and aligned with departmental goals.

Protocol Build & Testing Support:

• Collaborate with clinical and technical teams to support protocol development and testing.
• Provide feedback and assist in troubleshooting during protocol implementation phases.

Operational Support:

• Act as a point of contact for operational issues during mid-shift hours.
• Coordinate with other shift supervisors to ensure seamless handoffs and communication.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for workflow optimization and quality improvement.
• Participate in departmental initiatives and projects as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:

Education: 

Successful completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program and American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registry

 

Experience:

Four years of experience in an accredited imaging modality (Radiologic Tech, MR, CT, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Sonography, Interventional Radiology) is required with CT being preferred.

Two years of team leader or applicable supervisory experience is also required in addition to the four years of imaging tech experience.

 

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification:

ARRT certification

Computed Tomograpghy (CT) certification

BLS certification
