Research Technician II will perform several routine maintenance jobs for the lab that will include but are not restricted to the following: keeping inventory on lab supplies and ordering supplies for the lab; making common lab reagents such as buffers or growth media; maintaining mouse lines which will involve keeping a database, mouse husbandry and mouse genotyping; assisting PhD students and postdocs in conducting experiments which will involve but are not restricted to experiments that involve BSL2 pathogens such as Chlamydia, Toxoplasma, Legionella or Shigella.

Successful candidates should have strong technical, record keeping, and organizational skills as well as excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

 

Education

Work generally requires a bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other directly related scientific field.

 

Experience

 

None required above education/training requirement. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
