Part-Time Research Technician – Translational Pathology

Position Summary
The Lin Lab and Wang Lab in the Department of Pathology are jointly seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Part-Time Research Technician. This role supports both labs through data management, basic data analysis, and general laboratory operations.
Lab Focus Areas
- Lin Lab: A newly established translational lymphoma research group investigating tumor–microenvironment interactions in lymphomagenesis and disease progression, as well as preclinical studies of targeted therapies.
- Wang Lab: Focused on the intersection of neuroinflammation, vascular pathology, and neurodegenerative diseases.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with de-identified patient samples and prepare them for next-generation sequencing (NGS)
- Assist in sequencing data analysis and data management
- Support general lab operations, including ordering supplies, maintaining inventories (animals, cell lines, reagents), and equipment upkeep
- Contribute to research publications, literature reviews, and documentation
- Collaborate with lab members on specific projects
- Optional: Hands-on training in mouse husbandry, cell culture, and other wet lab techniques, depending on experience and interest
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Biology, Immunology, Neuroscience, Data Science, or a related field
- Strong interest in translational oncology and immunology research
- Excellent scientific writing and communication skills
- Preferred: Experience in cell culture, mouse handling, immunology, or molecular biology (training will be provided)
- Minimum one-year commitment preferred
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $18.00 – $25.97, based on experience, education, and internal equity

Minimum Qualifications
- Education/Training: Associate degree in a science-related field (e.g., biology, botany, zoology, psychology)
- Experience: None required beyond education/training
- Equivalent combinations of relevant education and/or experience will be considered
