Research Technician – Tumor Biology 

 

We are seeking a Research Technician to support both laboratory research and scientific writing efforts in our team. This role offers hands-on training in cell culture, tumor organoid growth, and library preparation for sequencing, along with opportunities to contribute to manuscripts, grants, and scientific presentations. Depending on prior experience and future ambitions, the technician may assist in maintaining tumor organoid cultures, performing molecular assays (e.g., flow cytometry, ELISA), and preparing samples for next gen sequencing. Additionally, they will help draft and edit research publications, conduct literature reviews, and prepare various documentation. 

 

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience, Data Science, Immunology, Biology, or a related field, with strong scientific writing skills and an interest in translational oncology research. Prior experience in cell culture or molecular biology, or bioinformatics is desirable but not required, as training will be provided. The position provides a unique opportunity to gain experience at the intersection of bench research and medical writing, making it ideal for those considering advanced research roles, cultivating skills for graduate studies or medical school.

 

Anticipated Pay Range:

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $ 18.00 to USD $25.97.
