The Bagnat Lab in the Duke University Department of Cell Biology seeks a temporary Research Scholar with a strong background in in the field of morphogenesis and physiology using zebrafish as model system.

Principal responsibilities for this position include the following:

• Designing and performing experiments successfully and collecting and analyzing data related to completing your research project in the Bagnat lab.
• Keeping proper records of your experiments and resulting data in a way that is in line with the provided guidelines and SOPs.
• Presenting your data in lab meetings and departmental seminars in an organized, logical manner
• Demonstrating commitment to your own training and career advancement.
• Demonstrating significant intellectual contribution to other scientific projects within the labs as well as your own
• Contributing to the training and advancement of graduate students and other lab personnel
• Writing manuscripts as appropriate for the development of your career.

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellence in the areas of biological and biomedical research, as indicated by the record of discovery, the record of innovation and tool-making, and the history of publication in strong research journals.  Strong quantitative and writing skills.

This will be a minimum one-year appointment, contingent upon satisfactory annual reviews.  

Min Degree Requirements: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g. Sc.D., M.D., D.V.M.)

Other Credential/Experiential Requirements:  Visiting scholar engaging in temporary research at Duke.
