RESEARCH SCHOLAR
Durham, NC, US, 27710
Background- Dr. Bari lab is focused on microbial metabolomics and its cross talk with antitumor immune responses. Our work is translational evaluating the role of microbial metabolic pathways in mediating resistance to immunotherapy. We leverage patient samples as the cornerstone of our research and every endeavor in our lab is geared towards improving clinical outcomes for cancer patients. We are developing a metabolomics-based biomarker panel to predict responses to immunotherapy in solid cancers, thus advancing precision Oncology. Another area of interest is development of drugs to target microbial metabolic pathways that mediate resistance to immunotherapy, hence improving patients’ treatment response.
To achieve our goals, we are looking for a well experienced, enthusiastic and a diligent research scholar, with following details-
Occupational Summary
Understand, learn, perform and lead a variety of technical and scientific experiments involved in immune and microbial metabolomics research. An ideal candidate is one who has at least two years’ experience in lab research, preferably in immunology, metabolomics, microbiome or a combination of these. Proficiency with mice work is a requirement. The candidate should demonstrate scientific acumen, initiative and be able to brainstorm roadblocks.
Work Performed
Perform a variety of technical and scientific task involved in conducting physical, chemical or biological tests, experiments and determinations to obtain data in support of research-oriented activities, compile and document procedures and results. The scholar should also be able to supervise other research tech and less experienced staff in lab.
