Position Summary:
The NC-PAL Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing the administration of the North Carolina Psychiatry Access Line (NC-PAL). This role ensures the successful execution of day-to-day operations, program development, and long-term sustainability. The Assistant Director collaborates closely with NC-PAL Principal Investigators (PIs), Directors, program leaders, and sponsoring agencies to align activities with the program’s vision and goals. This position also works with peers to ensure consistency in program implementation.

Program Administration, Stakeholder Engagement, and Communications | - Develop and manage tools to track progress toward program goals using implementation science principles. - Facilitate meetings across Duke, UNC, and the NC Department of Health and Human Services. - In collaboration with the Administrative Lead: • Plan and convene quarterly statewide stakeholder meetings. • Present at local, state, and national conferences. • Organize public relations activities (e.g., newsletters, website, promotional materials). - Maintain liaison with internal Duke departments and external partners (e.g., Care Management Organizations, professional societies, clinics). - Advise staff on pediatric behavioral health policy. - Support referral coordination and consultation services. - Oversee administrative staff and manage personnel actions. |

Program Development | - Develop innovative enhancements, protocols, and policies. - Coordinate provider education and training activities. - Lead the REACH Institute PPP Mini-Fellowship, including recruitment, curriculum, and CME accreditation. - Support staff wellness and DEI initiatives. - Collaborate with clinical leaders to pilot strategies for individuals with co-occurring I/DD and SED or SMI. - Design and evaluate educational resources and interventions. - Promote continuous improvement and staff development. |

Grants, Contracts, and Budget Management | - Collaborate with the Grants Manager to track staff FTEs and monitor expenditures. - Ensure compliance with sponsor requirements. - Draft scopes of work and budgets. - Prepare fiscal year budget recommendations. |

Minimum Education/Training Requirements:
- Master’s degree required.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Job Skill Requirements:

- Minimum of four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation:
- Salary Range: $60,328 – $94,000 annually.
- Compensation is based on responsibilities, experience, education, internal equity, and market considerations.
