As a member of our Supply Chain Services team, this is an onsite position with responsibilities that span multiple locations. You will be expected to float between Duke Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital,  Duke Raleigh Hospital, and Lake Norman to meet the needs of each location within the health system. 

 

Position Summary:

The Health System Program Manager – Supply Chain will provide strategic oversight and leadership in system-wide inventory management across all Duke Health entities. This role will centralize efforts currently managed independently at each facility, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals. The Program Manager will oversee Product Analysts across all Duke hospitals, resolve blocked invoice issues, and collaborate closely with the Business Office to improve supply chain and financial operations. The position reports to the Senior Director of Supply Chain

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead system-wide management of manufacturer backorders, demand planning, and supply forecasting.
  • Provide strategic oversight and direct supervision of Product Analysts across all Duke Health entities.
  • Establish a standardized approach to inventory management, eliminating silos and driving consistent practices.
  • Partner with the Business Office to resolve blocked invoices and streamline financial reconciliation processes.
  • Develop and implement data-driven decision-making frameworks for inventory planning and operational efficiency.
  • Create and monitor performance metrics to ensure accountability, accuracy, and efficiency in supply chain operations.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to minimize disruptions and improve service levels.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to ensure inventory management supports patient care needs.
  • Provide regular reporting and communication to executive leadership on key supply chain performance indicators.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare supply chain, inventory management is required. 
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing system-level initiatives is strongly preferred.
  • Strong background in forecasting demand planning, and financial process alignment.

Based at Duke Health, with responsibility across all hospital entities. Hybrid work environment, with expectations for onsite leadership presence at hospitals as needed.

Education

Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program (preferred).

 

Experience

Work requires the ability to plan and administer programs and direct program activities within a specific functional area, generally acquired through four years of related experience. OR ANY OTHEREQUIVALENT COMBINAT ION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
