Job Summary
Directly and indirectly manage all functions of the cardiology fellowships and designated
ACGME programs. Working directly with the senior program coordinator for cardiology and the
program directors to maintain compliance and accreditation for all aspects of the programs and
respective trainees. Programs to oversee and manage: Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology (ACGME). Assist Senior Program coordinator with Cardiovascular Disease (ACGME), Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology (ACGME) and Cardiovascular Disease Research Pathway (NST).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Acquire knowledge of current rules, regulations, and institutional requirements. Develop a thorough knowledge of residency databases to enhance residency programs and department efficiency, and update annually. Ensure resident education and compliance with national, hospital, departmental, and program policies.
- Coordinate all efforts in selecting, inviting, scheduling applicants for interviews. Manage daily activities related to recruiting. Assist Senior Program Coordinator during other ACGME program recruitment days
- Oversee the development and management of all educational activities for the trainees, including rotation/clinic shifts and required didactics for all trainees (including but not limited conferences, seminars and research activities as applicable.)
- Upload and input all scheduled house staff activities to all required platforms (residency database, scheduling software and interactive scheduling tools) Monitor and track all scheduling activities so that they are in compliance with all program accreditation requirements.
- Provide administrative and management assistance to the Senior GME Program Coordinator for Cardiology.
- Manage and submit all Concur submissions for fellows and senior program coordinator
- Oversee and submit all cardiology grants
- Plan and schedule work priorities in accordance with program goals and deadlines. Advise or direct designated personnel in the department or division; make work assignments and review work for accuracy and completeness.
- In conjunction with the Program Director, design and administer the program’s educational curriculum and compile necessary data for continuous quality improvement and accreditation.
- Coordinate/assist with event planning of educational trainings, welcome events, end of year dinners, etc.
- Attend all GME related meetings.
- Plan and execute the distribution of reports and information as required.
- Advise supervisor as to the status of current activities and additional or expanded program requirements; make recommendations for solution to problems identified. Assist in determining budgetary recommendations and requirements; monitor, verify and reconcile expenditures of budgeted program accounts.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
- Develop a concrete understanding of all Cardiology fellowships requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
Experience
Work requires one year of experience in program administration or OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events.
