JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Program Coordinator to plan, coordinate and administer activities for the Duke Child and Adolescent Gender Care Program; develop, coordinate and advise on policy related to Youth Programming.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development and management of the Duke Future Leaders Advocates and Mentorship (FLAME) initiative
- Develop and implement programing for trans and non-binary youth that works to address health and mental health disparities within the population as part of the Duke Child and Adolescent Gender Care program.
- Develop program assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement
- Coordinate consent with legal guardians of minor participants for all programming
- Coordinate leadership initiative with key stakeholders
- Supervise and oversee mentors for the youth leadership program
- Recruitment and training
- Recruit and supervise project interns and master’s level students working with the youth leadership program to ensuring program goals are reached
- Build community partnerships with the advocates/leaders and their agencies
- Develop training curriculum and materials for mentor training
- Organize and host training for youth leadership mentors and advocate/leaders
- Obtain any additional needed continuing education and/or certificate level training to successfully execute program initiatives
- Maintain necessary continuing education to support clinical license and meet program needs
- Collaboration and oversight
- Work closely with project sponsors, cross-functional teams, and assigned project mentors and community advisory board members to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for the leadership initiative and youth programming
- Collaborate with business managers around the development of budget priorities for projects that are in line with donor and/or grant funding awards
- Analyze, evaluate, prevent and/or overcome program risks in collaboration with Duke Safety Office
- Develop safety and crisis protocols for all program participation
- Provide program updates and annual reports for donors, community advisory board members and other key stakeholders
- Oversee measurement and evaluation of the efficacy of the youth leadership program
- Program Fundraising, development and expansion
- Provide clinical support for youth programming, including participant recruitment, conducting participant mental health assessments, and facilitating/co-facilitating youth and parent support groups
- Spearhead fundraising, strategic planning, and budgeting in collaboration with business management
- Recruit and supervise master’s level social work interns to support overarching gender program goals
- Train staff/providers within the health system and in the community around gender affirming care and best practices for youth
- Develop and conduct group educational/informational sessions for parents and patients who are using clinic services
- Coordinate and collaborate with other community groups running youth programming when appropriate
- Strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that adhere to programmatic objectives
- Maintain organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance
- Support budget management of donated funds already provided and expand funding channels in collaboration with the Duke Development Office for sustainability of the youth programming
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Work requires three years of experience in program administration or involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events.

OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters of Social Work or comparable degree; Licensed mental health provider.
- Five or more years of experience working with youth, parents and community agencies.
- Experience in managing and engaging stakeholders.
- 3 or more years of developing and delivering culturally competent training and education presentation to diverse recipients.
- Experience working within the medical/health and mental health setting to accomplish programmatic goals.
- Experience with program evaluation and quality improvement.
JOB HOURS
The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
