The Department of Surgery is seeking a detail-oriented Postdoctoral Associate to be part of the Lyerly Lab. This position will generate, validate, and apply Crainbow mouse models that express multiple HER2 isoforms — wild-type (WT), D16, and p95 which are essential reagents for the laboratory’s DoD funded program.
Minimum Requirements:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g. Sc.D., M.D., D.V.M.) in a science related field
This position is Onsite. The work is performed on-site or at a designated assigned location.

- Design and construct isoform-specific Crainbow lines.
- Manage breeding colonies.
- Perform genotyping and confirming isoform expression and lineage labeling.
- Conduct in vivo tumorigenesis studies to characterize and compare the tumorigenicity of WT, D16, and p95 HER2 and using these models to test whether HER2 ICD- and p95 HER2-based vaccines generated by the laboratory prevent isoform-driven tumor formation
- Histological and molecular validation of the models, quantitative data analysis, and preparation of results for progress reports, presentations, and publications
