Occupational Summary
Apply project management knowledge, technical and interpersonal skills, and project management tools and techniques to meet the project requirements of research projects coordinated through the Research Project Management Core.
Work Performed
Implement standard project management processes, tools and methodology to support large or complex research projects in non-clinical research. Consistently applying standard project management methodology, processes, and tools to projects.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Plan, lead, and facilitate project team meetings.
- Develop and implement communication plans
- Develop detailed task lists and standard operating procedures
- Coordinate logistical aspects of proposal development
- Drive project initiation and protocol management activities
- Train, manage, and mentor project team personnel
- Work with functional managers to resolve schedule and resource conflicts. Escalate difficult project issues as appropriate.

Note: this specific position will have 70% of their effort allocated to a multi-site sickle cell disease registry project.

Education/Training
- Bachelor's degree. Additional training in Project Management or related training is desired.
Experience
- Four years of progressively responsible experience in project management, including complex projects involving multiple functional groups. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.
- Well qualified candidates will have experience with community-engaged research and Duke Health IRB processes.
Skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to independently drive multiple projects at one time
- Demonstrated experience delivering quality project outcomes and meeting project deadlines
- Strong problem solving, strategic thinking, and time management skills
- Knowledge of research best practices
- Well qualified candidates will have knowledge of the Duke research infrastructure and resources

Anticipated Pay Range:
Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $77,898.00 to USD $124,598.00.
