DHVI Program Manager, GMP Portfolio

 

The Program Manager, GMP Portfolio, will be responsible for working with the Duke Human Vaccine Institute (DHVI) leadership, program managers, GMP team and GMP finance manager in the coordination, evaluation and scientific management of submissions and awarded activities for GMP funded grants/contracts. Coordinate the scientific components of all sponsor requirements for both grant / contract submissions as well as evaluate and manage the requirements after their award.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Works directly with the GMP finance manager and GMP project management team to manage funded scientific activities of DHVI federal or nonfederal-sponsored GMP grants, contracts and cooperative agreements.

 

Assist with the management and coordination of the pre-award proposal process, working with individuals at various levels in the organization to ensure successful integration of all parts and ensure full compliance with all funding solicitation and sponsor requirements.

 

Assist PIs with the development of the administrative/management plan for the project. Draft / coordinate all sections related to compliance for investigators as well as other sections as deemed appropriate

 

Draft and edit proposals and progress reports and provide writing support; advise investigators on proposal content and organization; assist with updates and maintenance of institutional resource template materials

 

Liaise with the GMP Portfolio Manager, on the GMP team, to ensure that product specific timelines match the budget forecasting while understanding sponsor constraints. This person will collect and interpret data, create scientific templates for the GMP team as needed, and generate SAB and progress reports including the collection of information from the technical team.

 

Manage scientific content requirements in response to Just-In-Time, noncompeting renewals, competing renewals and carryforward requests.

 

Utilize scientific and management expertise to directly manage and coordinate the grant and contract submission process for all GMP specific activities. This person will work with individuals at various levels in the GMP organization and current program management team to ensure successful integration of all parts of the proposal / application and ensure full compliance with all funding solicitation and sponsor requirements. Draft scientific proposal templates for the team, organize and lead kick off and on-going progress meetings, acquire all necessary information in response for the RFA/RFP.

 

Represent DHVI Leadership in scientific meetings, calls and presentations addressing both scientific and business implications of current and future projects as required.

 

Plans, coordinates and prepares analyses and reports for the Chief of Staff, Director of DHVI, and the Director of Product Development as needed.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in a clinical, scientific or technical field applicable to clinical or translational research administration.  Master or PhD degree and/or post graduate training in clinical research, health policy, health administration, business or other related field preferred

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Work requires 4 years of progressive responsibility experience in a program management, administrative, or operational capacity in an academic health center, clinical/translational research, or health care delivery setting. Previous personnel management and supervisory experience.

 

Requires knowledge of pre-award and post award management. Both contracts and grants program management experience preferred.

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Education

Bachelors degree in the biological or health sciences.

 

Experience

 

Minimum of four years of experience working in research laboratories. Must have a minimum of two years of experience performing work specific to the position. A Master's degree in biological or health sciences may substitute for two years of required experience. A PhD biological or health sciences may substitute for five years of required experience.
