Job Summary

 

Directly and indirectly manage all functions of the ACGME Geriatrics fellowship program and designated ICGME programs. In addition to serving as Program Coordinator for the Geriatrics Fellowship, serving as assistant program coordinator for the Infectious Diseases and Nephrology fellowship programs. Working directly with the senior program coordinator and the program directors to maintain compliance and accreditation for all aspects of the programs and respective trainees. This position reports to the senior administrator for education.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Acquire knowledge of current rules, regulations, and institutional requirements. Develop a thorough knowledge of trainee databases to enhance fellowship programs and department efficiency, and update annually. Ensure resident education and compliance with national, hospital, departmental, and program policies.
  • Coordinate all efforts in selecting, inviting, scheduling applicants for interviews. Manage daily and ongoing activities related to recruiting including keeping websites up to date.
  • Coordinate post interview data collection and analysis. Serves as primary contact for ERAS, coordinates rank order list for the programs. Work directly with Senior GME Program Coordinator and Senior Administrator for education to ensure all metrics are met and documentation that is required.
  • Oversee the development and management of all educational activities for the trainees, including rotation/clinic shifts and required didactics for all trainees (including but not limited conferences, seminars and research activities as applicable.)
  • Upload and input all scheduled house staff activities to all required platforms (trainee database, scheduling software and interactive scheduling tools) Monitor and track all scheduling activities so that they are in compliance with all program accreditation requirements. Ensure out-rotation billing and reconciliation are accurate monthly.
  • Provide administrative and management assistance to the Senior GME Program Coordinator for Infectious Diseases and Nephrology.
  • Plan and schedule work priorities in accordance with program goals and deadlines. Advise or direct designated personnel in the department or division; make work assignments and review work for accuracy and completeness.
  • In conjunction with the Program Director, design and administer the program's educational curriculum and compile necessary data for continuous quality improvement and accreditation.
  • Coordinate grant searches for funding opportunities for fellowship programs within the department of medicine.
  • Attend and participate in all GME related meetings.
  • Plan and execute the distribution of reports and information as required.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
  • Hybrid position with on-site responsibilities to ensure programs effectiveness for didactic sessions and other fellowship related items.

Anticipated Pay Range:

 

 

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $ 43,888.00 to USD $70,300.00.
