Occupational Summary

Plan, coordinate, and administer activities for assigned research-related programs coordinated through the Research Project Management Core.

 

Work Performed

Budget for, coordinate, and implement events and other research-related programs. Develop and coordinate materials and resources to ensure program success. Apply standard project management methodology, processes, and tools to assigned programs.

 

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Make operational and programmatic decisions to ensure successful achievement of program objectives.
  • Develop and implement procedures, detailed task lists, processes and procedures, and systems to achieve program objectives.
  • Develop and implement communication plans
  • Maintain liaison with other programs, offices, and departments at Duke to efficiently and compliantly coordinate program needs and accomplish program objectives.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to other project staff to ensure successful completion of project objectives.
  • Work with functional managers to resolve schedule and resource conflicts. Escalate difficult project issues as appropriate.

Education/Training

  • Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Experience

  • Work requires three years of experience in program administration or involving academic, instructional, or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

Skills

  • Experience delivering quality project outcomes and meeting project deadlines
  • Experience coordinating people and resources, forming action plans, and evaluating program outcomes.
  • Application of logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.
  • Well qualified candidates will have knowledge of the Duke research infrastructure and resources

Anticipated Pay Range:

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $48,960.00 to USD $77,928.00.
