What You’ll Do
Research & Discovery
- Conduct full-time, independent research activities focused on prostate cancer metabolism, with emphasis on purine depletion as a therapeutic mechanism.
- Design, execute, and interpret experiments while maintaining rigorous scientific standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary researchers across Duke to advance project outcomes.
Scholarly Contributions
- Publish research findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present work at scientific conferences.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive laboratory records, which remain Duke property.
Training & Professional Development
- Receive structured mentorship to help prepare for a long-term academic or research career.
- Engage in open, timely dialogue with your mentor regarding research goals, professional development, and scientific integrity.
- Model collegiality and uphold the Duke School of Medicine Honor Code.
Compliance & Research Integrity

Required Qualifications
- A PhD or equivalent doctorate (e.g., MD, ScD, DVM).
- Candidates who have completed all degree requirements but await formal conferral may be considered with proper documentation.
- International candidates must hold conferred degrees to meet visa eligibility requirements.
