Be You.

At Duke, we celebrate individuality and the unique perspectives that each member of our community brings. As a Postdoctoral Associate, you’ll be a vital part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team advancing research in neuroscience, human physiology, psychology, and pharmacology. Your work will contribute to meaningful discoveries and help shape the future of clinical research.

Be Bold.

This is your opportunity to conduct independent research under the mentorship of a Duke faculty member, preparing you for a full-time academic or research career. You’ll work on an R01-funded project, analyzing imaging data and contributing to high-quality, first-author publications. You’ll be part of a vibrant research community at Duke University and Duke Medical Center, where innovation and collaboration thrive.

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct clinical research studies and analyze imaging data (MRI/fMRI or other)
  • Lead the development of first-author publications
  • Collaborate across disciplines in a strong, supportive research environment
  • Apply your expertise in neuroanatomy, human physiology, and clinical research
  • Publish and present your findings to the broader scientific community
  • Engage in full-time research or scholarship, with potential teaching responsibilities
  • Work under the guidance of a faculty mentor in a role designed to launch your academic career

Choose Duke.

To be considered, you must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., Sc.D., M.D., D.V.M.). Candidates who have completed all degree requirements but are awaiting formal conferral may also apply. This is a limited-term appointment (up to 5 years, with a possible 1-year extension) and must be registered with Duke’s Postdoctoral Office. The role is intended for individuals pursuing a long-term academic or research career and is not part of a clinical training program unless research training is the primary focus.
