Occupational Summary 

The Department of Neurology seeks a Post-Doctoral Fellow to work in the Vascular Neurology division on clinical research at the interface of causal inference, econometrics, biostatistics/bioinformatics, and data science. 

Work Performed 

· Work in highly collaborative inter-disciplinary environment with clinicians, econometricians, statisticians, and data scientists 

· Lead statistical analysis for projects examining questions in cardiovascular disease using extremely large data sets comprised of routinely-collected clinical data 

· Developing and maintaining requirements for access to Truveta Data and Epic Cosmos 

· Performing encounter to subject-level conversions 

· Data cleaning including harmonizing units, renaming variables, providing a preliminary assessment of the pattern and scope of missing data, identifying structural errors in the dataset, and for maintaining a record of all steps from data extraction to dataset assembly 

· Fitting of machine learning models 

· Development of instrumental variable analyses including developing novel methodological approaches in collaboration with faculty statisticians 

· Creating table and figure output for publication 

· Assisting with manuscript development and revision 

 

Educational Requirements: 

Work requires a PhD (bio)statistics, econometrics, data science, or related field. 

Experience/Skills Required: 

A background in commonly used programming environments is necessary. Experience with data cleansing, wrangling, visualization, modelling, and interpretation is necessary. Previous experience in data science is highly desired. Previous experience in causal inference is highly desired.
