POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE POSITION

 

The Liu laboratory in the Department of Medicine, Divisions of Cardiology and Neurology is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to perform research in the fields of aging-related inflammatory diseases including diabetes, cardiovascular, and Alzheimer’s disease. Successful candidates will lead projects using multi-omics datasets from large sample sizes of disease relevant tissues/cells to identify novel biomarkers and gain a better understanding of mechanisms underlying these inflammatory diseases.

 

All candidates should have a strong interest in population or clinical research, be able to work independently in team-oriented projects, and are consistent, responsible and accurate for scientific research. As part of the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA), successful candidates will also have opportunities for a) multi-site collaborations with scientists across the US, b) strong mentoring and growth in a fast-paced leading edge environment, and c) development of his/her own research program.

  • A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., ScD., DrPH, M.D., D.V.M., DDS etc) in Epidemiology, Biostatistics/Statistics, Bioinformatics, Genomics, or other relevant disciplines.
  • Knowledge in the areas of immunology and molecular biology preferred.
  • Candidates should have excellent scientific writing and strong oral communications skills
  • Experience in leading research papers for publication and data presentations preferred.
