The Yang Lab at Duke University is seeking a motivated postdoctoral fellow to carry on exciting projects focusing on membrane transport biology. The postdoc will work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team to unravel the mysteries of membrane ion and lipid transport and their roles in various diseases.

 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • PhD in biochemistry, biophysics or cell biology

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Strong communication, decision-making, and time management skills
  • Experience in lipid scramblases, ion channels, optical imaging, lipid biochemistry, cell biology, and physiology

 

This position is

  • Onsite. The work is performed on-site or at a designated assignment location.

  • Lead ambitious projects exploring molecular and cellular mechanisms of novel membrane lipid transporters and ion channels.
  • Engage in a spectrum of research activities including literature review, experimental design and execution, data analysis, manuscript preparation, communications with collaborators and journal editors, and dissemination of findings through conferences and publications.
  • Apply for fellowships and awards.
  • Help grant applications.
