JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Division of Medical Genetics is requesting a Postdoctoral Associate.

 

This position will be responsible for research on biomarkers for inborn errors of metabolism. This position will collaborate with faculty within Medical Genetics on pre-clinical and clinical research projects. The job responsibilities will include developing and optimizing biomarker assays using mass spectrometry and other technologies, analyzing data, preparing reports, presenting findings at a national meeting, and writing papers. Other responsibilities include ensuring compliance with ethical standards defined by the Duke Institutional Review Board and assisting with grant applications.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

The candidate should have a Ph.D. in a relevant field and at a minimum, experience with tandem mass spectrometry, as well as a strong background in biochemistry and inborn errors of metabolism. Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program) for conducting research will be provided at Duke.
