Introduction:
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) at Duke University is seeking an OIT-AUDS IT Analyst to join our West Campus Academic, User & Device Support (AUDS) team. This role provides comprehensive IT support to The Graduate School and the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences (DIBS), ensuring reliable and secure technology services that support academic, administrative, and research excellence.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate degree (Computer Science or related field preferred), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of two years of operational and technical experience in a medium to large-scale client/server environment.
- At least two years of experience supporting Windows 11 and MacOS devices, including installation and troubleshooting of business applications.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
- Smartphone capable of making/receiving calls, texts, and running on-call notification applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Windows 2016/2019 application servers.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Windows Group Policy.
- Familiarity with device management tools such as Microsoft SCCM and Jamf Pro.
- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems.
- Experience with virtual hosting environments.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow.
- Experience in an academic environment.
- Some coding experience.

Essential Job Duties:
- Provide all levels of device support for Windows 11 and MacOS configurations within The Graduate School and DIBS.
- Contribute to Windows Server administration, including file system and Active Directory management.
- Install, upgrade, and configure hardware and software according to documented procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to the satisfaction of supported departments.
- Support AV-enabled teaching and meeting spaces, including hardware assistance and user training.
- Perform proactive endpoint maintenance to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Consult with faculty, staff, and researchers on hardware/software acquisitions and provide budget projections.
- Maintain centralized documentation for supported systems and services.
- Ensure compliance with IT Security Office policies and best practices.
- Train users and peers on supported technologies.
- Participate in technical user groups and a 24/7 on-call rotation.
- Coordinate equipment disposal and recycling.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
