Perform a variety of nonprofessional nursingp hysician and nurses with physical examinations by helpingposition patien ts, changing non-sterile dressing and weighing patients.Take and record>

Work Performed

Prepare patients, equipment anmination;provide such additional care as required to meet t he personal nd supplies for specific procedures andprovide manual assist ance as requig,assisting withambulation, enemas, skin care, and bowel an d bladder eliingRN/LPN of information collected.Administer treatment and personal care procedures to patients including,but not limited to, feed ing, bathing,shaving, changing clothing,cleaning and trimming fingernail s, bed-makinbyreinforcing teaching instructed byRN and/or physician as n eeded.Assisteeds andcomfort of assigned patients.Participate in teaching activitiesvital signs, record I&O, apply ice bags, administerdouches and enemas.Note and report any changes in patient's condition.Turn and pos ition patieoral/nasogastric feeding and urinarycatherizations/irrigation .Perform otriatetraining.Assist with admission, discharge, and transport ation ofpatns.Clean assigned area; stock and replenish supplies and equi pment asrequired.Participate in own professional development by maintain ing requiredskills validation and attending educational offerings. Suppo rt thedevelasrequired.Collect, deliver and conduct routine tests on pati ent specimeopment of other staff and formal learners.May also perform st erile dressients.Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipmenther related duties incidental to work described herein.

Completion of a Leve l I - Nurse Aide education program approved by theNorth Carolina Board o f Nursing orsuccessful completion of the NC -approved Nurse Aide I com petency test.High School diploma or equivalent required.

Cur rently listed as a Nursing Assistant I (NA I) with the Division ofFacili ty Services with no substantiated findings of abuse, fraud,neglect or mi sappropriation of property.BCLS certification must be maintained/complet ed by the end of new hireorientation, which typically takes place during the first week ofemployment.
