Work Performed
I naddition to duties outlined in NAI job description, the followingduties may be performed: sterile dressing change for wounds over 48hours oldand wound irrigation; IV fluid assistance activities;oral/nasogastric feedi ng; urinary catheterization and irrigation; oxygentherapy, includingroom set-up and monitoring flow-rate; break up andremoval of fecal impaction ; oropharyngeal and nasopharyngealsuctioning; tracheotomy care; ostomyc are, irrigation and annual skillsvalidation.Participate in own professio nal development by maintaining requiredskills validation and attendinged ucational offerings. Support thedevelopment of other staff and formallea rners.Perform other related duties incidental to the work describedherei n.

Completion of a Leve l I - Nurse Aide educationprogram approved by theNorth Carolina Board o f Nursing or successful completion of the NC -approved Nurse Aide I com petency test.High School diploma or equivalent required.

Cur rently listed as a Nursing Assistant I (NA I) with the Division ofFacili ty Services with no substantiated findings of abuse, fraud,neglect or mi sappropriation of property.BCLS certification must be maintained/complet ed by the end of new hireorientation, which typically takes place during the first week ofemployment.
