The Duke Office of Information Technology Seeks Communications Interns

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is looking for communications interns to help raise awareness around its people, programs and events – and to generally promote all of the ways technology can be used to improve teaching and learning at Duke University.

We are looking for undergraduate students with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a good attitude. (NOTE: This is NOT a technical position.) The ideal candidate is organized enough to juggle several projects at once, takes detailed notes and follows through on tasks. Curiosity about communications and marketing and a willingness to learn new systems and tools is a must.

We are looking for students with any of these skills:

  • Writing: Ability to write profiles, features products, services and hot topics in technology for a student audience
  • Graphic design/photography: Create compelling and professional images that attract attention
  • Video: Produce short video clips that will engage audiences and increase traffic

Students with some journalism experience -- writing/designing/producing for news outlets, journalistic blogs or social media – are preferred.

The salary range is $19-22/hr, depending on experience. To apply send a cover letter, resume, and samples of your work to camille.jackson@duke.edu.
