Duke School of Medicine’s interdisciplinary Duke Molecular Physiology Institute (DMPI), is looking for two student assistants for Dr. Jon Campbell’s lab. Work hours will be Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm. The goal of these positions is to provide an opportunity for students to gain exposure to biomedical research to help build experience and inform on future career choices; and to provide valuable assistance to lab members.
Please note this is for the summer only.
Minimum Requirements:
- The position requires excellent organizational, time management, writing, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with relevant lab processes.
Other Requirements:
- Work will be done on-site.

Position Description:
- Participate in all group activities, including lab meetings, journal club, and appropriate small group meetings.
- Assist senior members (graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, technicians, and staff scientists) in various lab activities.
- Primary activities will be observation, scribing, sample preparation, and organization.
- Data entry for experimental results and other miscellaneous computer work.
- Weekly reports with lab members and PI.

Anticipated Pay Range:
Duke University provides an hourly rate for this position of $16.50.
