What You’ll Do:
- Support the Assistant Director of Memberships with daily administrative and operational tasks related to membership management
- Provide front-line customer service, assisting with membership inquiries, purchases, renewals, and account support
- Process payments, refunds, and account adjustments accurately and securely
- Troubleshoot membership access and account issues, coordinating with IT, Guest Services, and facility staff as needed
- Maintain accurate digital and paper records, ensuring confidentiality, data privacy, and compliance with departmental standards
- Assist with membership reporting, outreach initiatives, Duke community tabling opportunities, and retention efforts
- Uphold Duke Rec & P.E.’s customer service, inclusion, and professionalism standards in all interactions

This position works within Duke’s recreation centers in both administrative and front-line capacities. The environment is dynamic, fast-paced, and service-oriented, requiring professionalism, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills; prior service or administrative experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfort using computer systems, membership software, and mobile applications (Fusion experience preferred)
- Professionalism, reliability, and discretion when handling member information
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty/staff, alumni, community members, and campus partners
