Title: Major Gifts Coordinator, Iron Dukes

 

Position Summary

The Major Gifts Coordinator, Iron Dukes provides direct administrative support to development officers in the Iron Dukes office with their efforts to fundraise for Duke University Athletics. The Major Gifts Coordinator, Iron Dukes will collaborate with the Iron Dukes Varsity Club and Annual Fund by assisting in all Iron Dukes special events and office initiatives.

 

Essential Functions:

· Provide database assistance to development officers by entering information in an accurate and efficient manner.

· Ensure accurate processing of all gift documents and promptly communicate relevant information to the appropriate staff members for efficient handling.

· Support Major Gift Officers in prospecting by understanding their priorities and internal needs.

· Help coordinate stewardship strategies and implementation for major gift donors and sport-specific giving societies.

· Work in conjunction with the Duke Athletics Events department in organizing and executing Iron Dukes events.

· Manage the Iron Dukes suite during home football gamedays, organize RSVPs and invitations for all home football games.

· Pull reports to gather and analyze information for Iron Dukes staff.

· Aid in coordinating and organizing staff meetings.

· Monitor and reconcile procurement card activities and reimbursements concerning donor meetings/entertainment and travel for development officers.

· Other tasks as assigned and needed.

 

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree required.

· At least one to three years of administrative office support and/or experience working in college athletics and/or philanthropy.

 

Technology Skills:

· Work requires advanced

knowledge of MS office, with a

particular emphasis in Excel.

· Knowledge of Adobe products (Photoshop, InDesign) preferred.

 

Professional Skills:

· Strong organizational, customer service, and communication skills.

· Ability to prioritize tasks appropriately, and with sensitive deadlines.

· Adhere to confidentiality requirements.

· Understanding of college athletics and/or philanthropy.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

 

Education

Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

 

Experience

 

Work requires one year of experience in fund raising, alumni affairs, OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE public relations, student activities, program administration or a related field to become familiar with activities involved in planning special events or programs.
