Work Arrangement – On-Site
Anticipated Pay Range - Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $ 28.31 to USD $44.93. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
An Associate Degree is preferred.
Experience – Six (6) to eight (8) years of experience required as an Electrician or Maintenance Electrician experience is preferred.
Supervisory skills and experience are required.
Certificate, License, Registrations –
Valid N.C. driver’s license and a driving history acceptable under the guidelines of the Safe Driving Policy required.
Candidates must have a valid NC electrical license, it is required.
Electrical Technology certificate/degree or acceptable training is required for this position.

- Supervise and participate in corrective maintenance, preventative maintenance and repair activities within assigned areas of the Engineering & Operations Electric Shop. Work effectively in a team environment with constant communication and collaboration with other Supervisors and Management.
- Plan and schedule work for the group ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate staffing, space, equipment and supplies for adequate performance of duties. Continually monitor and manage assets, corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance within the CMMS program. Run reports to ensure work is being completed in a timely manner. Communicate work load on a regular basis with the Manager.
- Establish, maintain and update the preventive maintenance program within assigned area of responsibility. Responsible for the compliance and documentation of assigned electrical systems.
- Conduct periodic inspections of buildings and equipment to determine repair needs; establish and maintain liaison with customers within assigned areas regarding maintenance requirements to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local codes; direct and follow-up any required rework or modifications.
- Ensure that employees are properly trained to perform duties; ensure a safe work environment; ensure compliance with the Medical Center, NFPA, OSHA and The Joint Commission safety regulations.
- Advise management of general condition of facilities and equipment and any unusual problems or concerns that may arise; make recommendations for improvements or upgrades of facilities for budget planning.
- Ensure appropriate documentation of maintenance and repair records to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and codes.
- Supervise various personnel actions including, but not limited to, scheduling, training, hiring, promotions, performance evaluations, corrective action, and termination.
- Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, trends and appropriate recommendations.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
SKILLS
- Must have knowledge of The Joint Commission, CMS, DFS, OSHA, State and Local Codes, and NFPA standards; good communication and leadership skills required. Supervisory skills are required.
- Must have working knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA70E Electrical Safety. The Electrical Foreman will be expected to stay current with these codes and compliance for Healthcare Facilities.
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to handle customer complaints respectively.
- Communicates and follows up with customers on requests and work performed by E&O. Goes the extra mile to engage with the customer.
- Must be proficient with computer skills and knowledge of various programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Knowledge of card access management systems is desired.
HOURS
- The Supervisor position is primarily first shift Monday–Friday but will be expected to work after-hours and weekends as necessary. Answering phone calls and providing support after-hours, weekends and holidays is required.

- Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, with employees, management and customers.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in routine and emergency situations.
- Must respect the privacy of patients and maintain the confidentiality of any patient information related to their treatment.
- Ability to complete daily records, logs, time sheets, and required reports.
