What You’ll Do:
- Cultivate partnerships with University academic departments, administrative units, and community organizations.
- Design and implement student services and activities.
- Support the Faculty Director in ensuring the accurate and timely implementation of Graduate School policies and procedures.
- Monitor student progress towards program completion using DukeHub and Stellic.
- Coordinate with SSRI Director of Communications for external communications.
- Supervise the Senior Program Coordinator and oversee time off reporting.
- Provide overall accountability for developing and monitoring the MIDS annual budget.
- Cultivate relationships across campus to support career and professional development.
- Organize and support online summer review, bootcamp, orientation, and registration.
- Advise students on university resources, policy issues, and career development.
- Connect international students to Duke Visa Services or Duke International Student Center.
- Advise students on the suitability of electives and review courses for approval.
- Assist students in recognizing and achieving their educational and professional development goals.
- Devise and execute recruitment strategies to increase and diversify the applicant pool.
- Work closely with the faculty chair of admissions to select, admit, and matriculate a qualified and diverse cohort of students.
- Provide data to inform a yearly report on Admissions Recruitment and Enrollment strategy.
- Cultivate applicants and outreach with prospective students.
- Facilitate the annual admissions process, including scheduling interviews and interviewing select applicants.
- Make recommendations on criteria, parameters, and processes for selection and scholarship distribution.
- Contribute to strategic planning, assessment, and continuous improvement efforts.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5–7 years of relevant experience required.
- Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, or related field preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Experience with student advising, event planning, and data systems (e.g., Stellic, DukeHub, Slate).

Minimum Qualifications
- Work requires a general business background, generally equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
- Work requires 2 years of related business or administrative experience to become familiar with general personnel practices, accounting and budgeting principles, and coordination of major office activities. A master's degree in a business-related field may be substituted for 2 years of experience OR ANY OTHER EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.
- Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Experience with student advising, event planning, and data systems (e.g., Stellic, DukeHub, Slate).
While remote work is possible during semester breaks and occasionally as needed, during much of the academic year, it is expected that the candidate will be on-campus a substantial portion of the work week.
