LPN ORTHO SPINE CLINIC -Summary Work Performed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Level Characteristics following:

  • Working Heavy lifting and the ability to transport stretcher and wheelchair directed, physician performed, physician correspondence including record specimens
  • Perform other clinical functions as delegated by supervisor
  • Answer telephones-explaining treatment procedures to patients
  • Greet patients, arrange for laboratory services
  • Schedule appointments age-specific competencies
  • Take medical histories and record vital signs
  • Perform routine administrative and patient care support duties
  • Fill out insurance forms; good customer service skills
  • Telephone/ handle billing and bookkeeping duties
  • Change sterile and non-sterile dressings, remove staples
  • Authorize drug refills as directed
  • Administrative duties may include but not limited to the update and file
  • Perform other administrative duties as examinations and procedures examination and procedures
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed
  • Remove Assisting physician during the
  • Sterilize medical instruments, patient medical records
  • Prepare patients for collection and prepare laboratory and his/her involvement in the plan of care, and document in patient
  • Dispose of contaminated supplies, X-rays, tests and procedures
  • Take electrocardiograms
  • Arrange for hospital prescriptions to a pharmacy
  • Draw blood
  • Duties may include but not limited to the Promote patient/family understanding of the educational content
  • Perform basic laboratory tests on the premises precautions
  • Knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene and basic health and safety
  • Working knowledge of procedures and tech procedures and techniques involved
  • Daily clinic preparation
  • Working knowledge of sterile techniques knowledge of infection control procedures and safety in administering routine and special treatments to patients, and clinic staff
  • Work requires the ability to and special procedures that are applicable to work in a clinic setting.
  • Registration, scheduling, charge posting, order entry.to establish and maintain effective working relationship s with patients
  • Able to document and communicate pertinent information, precautions applicable for understand and follow oral and written instructions generally acquire education and medical assistant program to assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure office health system medical practice
  • Assist medical and nursing staff in a variety of tasks

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education-Work requires graduation from an accredited Practical Nurse program.

Experience-No experience required.

Degrees, Licensures, Certifications

Current State of North Carolina LPN licensure is required
