Denny Lab – Duke Human Vaccine Institute




  • Provide general laboratory support to IVQAC laboratory
  • Process biohazardous shipments from internal and external laboratories
  • Maintain proper shipping documents (invoices, import permits etc.
  • Maintain clean laboratory space
  • Maintain ample inventory of Laboratory supplies and personal protective equipment; stocking of these materials throughout the laboratory facilities
  • Document weekly laboratory instrument performance testing of laboratory equipment
  • Routine cleaning of biological safety cabinets
  • Distribution of dry ice to applicable laboratory area
  • Perform additional duties as requested by direct supervisor 


Required Qualifications at this Level:

  • Education/Training: Work requires a basic science background normally acquired through a high school education.
  • Experience: None required. 



  • Physical requirements: Work requires standing or walking the majority of each day, lifting of loads 10-20 pounds multiple times per day, and pulling loads of 25-50 pounds multiple times per day.
  • The successful applicant must be eligible for and willing to:
    • Work with infectious biological materials handled at BSL2 and BSL3.
    • Comply with vaccination and health surveillance requirements
