Occ Summary This position collaborates with healthcare pr oviders by performing avariety of clerical duties tosupposupport patient care.Duties include greeting patients and visitors,answering the telep hone, resporesponding tsupport patient care. Duties include greeting pa tientsandvisitors,answering the teletelephone, responding to patient's r equests, accessing the electronicmedical record(EMR), schescheduling app ointments andresponding to patient's requests, accessing the electronicmedicalrecrecord(EMR), schedulingappointments and providing general cler icalsupport as needed by thedepdepartment. This position will consisteap pointments andproviding general clerical support as neneeded by the depa rtment. This position will consistently exhibitsexcellent customer servi ceskills. Work Performed Answer patient signals anwill consistently exhi bits excellent customer service skills. Work Performed Answer patient si gnals and relay request to appropriate individual. Place calls for cons ultations as needed Understand and is able to use the manual back up sy stem as needed. Assemble and maintain patient charts from admission thr ough discharge Prepare and upload paper documents into the electronic m edical record(EMR). Navigate electronic medical record, access patient information,generate reports, schedule apappointments and manage task li st.Use available technology to request and coordinaappointments and mana getask list. Use available technology to request and coordinate patient transport. Assign nursing staff to communication systems. Assist in re viewing clerical duties and responsibilities with new staffmembers. Ord ersupplies for the unit; maintain inventory and replenish asnecessary.Co py,file, mail and/or distribute materials as appropriate. Maintainrecor dsas required by the unit (i.e. time sheets, continuingeducationinformat ion, etc.). Schedule maintenance in automated schedule system as direct ed by NurseManager or designee Generate reports as directed byNurse Man ageror designee (Example:compliance) Participate in review ofges to eff ect continual improvement inservices provided; and cocompliesactivitiesa nd processes for area of work. Assists in implementing chanwith regulat ory and legal requirements. Exhcomplies with regulatory andlegal require ments. Exhibit professional communication skill when answering the telep honeand interacting with papatients, visitors and other staff members.Ro undpatients, visitors and otherstaff members.
