Occ Summary
This position collaborates with healthcare providers by performing avariety of clerical duties to support patient care.Duties includegreeting patients and visitors, answering the teleph one,responding topatient's requests,accessing the electronic medical re cord(EMR),scheduling appointments and providing general clerical support asneededby the department. This position will consistently exhibits exc ellentcustomer service skills.
Work Performed
Answer patient signals and relay request to appropriate individual.Place calls forconsultations as neededUnderstand and is able to use the manual back upsystem as needed.Assemble and maintain patient charts from admission t hrough dischargePrepare and upload paper documents into the electronic m edical record(EMR).Navigate electronic medical record, access patient in formation, generatereports, schedule appointments and manage task list.U se available technology to request and coordinate patient transport.Assi gnnursing staff to communication systems.Assist in reviewing clerical d uties and responsibilities with new staffmembers.Order supplies for theu nit; maintain inventory and replenish asnecessary.Copy, file, mail and/o rdistribute materials as appropriate.Maintain records as required by the unit (i.e. time sheets, continuingeducation information, etc.).Schedulem aintenance in automated schedule system as directed by NurseManagerordes igneeGenerate reports as directed by Nurse Manager or designee (Example: compliance)Participate in review of activities and processes for areaof work.Assists in implementing changes to effect continual improvementinse rvices provided; and complies with regulatory and legal requirements.Exh ibit professional communication skill when answering the telephoneand in teracting with patients, visitors and other staff members.Roundandgreet patients each shift and explain their role.Greets patients, visitors, ph ysicians and employees in a pleasant mannerand refers to appropriate are asas needed.Answers phones, screens and refers calls as appropriate, de liversmessages and provides information to patients, visitorsand personn elupon request.Assist unit management in tracking inventory,stocking iss ues andmaintaining adequate patient care supplies.Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
