Job Summary:
Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate employee-based health education programs and activities
Education:
Required: BA/BS in Health Education, Health Promotion/Wellness or related health field.
Preferred, but not required: CHES certification and Master’s Degree
Experience:
- Program/event design, promotion, implementation, evaluation, and improvement.
- Knowledge of behavior change theories, adult learning, and various delivery methods including in-person, Web and telephone applications.
Skills:
Computer literacy in Windows and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Ability to create newsletters, fliers, surveys and mail merges
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to create, implement and evaluate effective marketing plans/strategies
Ability to multi-task
Characteristics:
An upbeat and energetic personality
A passion for health and wellness and a desire to help others achieve their goals
Feels safe around dogs
Is able to be outside for long periods of time during the summer
Job Responsibilities:
Serve as the project lead for the Duke Farmers Market, Get Moving Challenge, Wellness Expos, Pets at Duke, and other health promotion events.
Develop and deliver group or virtual presentations on a variety of well-being topics.
Lead the promotion of all LIVE FOR LIFE services and programs at a surrounding community hospital.
Assist Health Promotion Program Manager with the chair massage program, health events, and other special projects & initiatives as needed.
Assist in evaluating current health promotion programs.
Develops and distributes health education marketing materials and messages in line with the business plan and assist with program marketing, including regularly updating website content.
Develop, analyze, and create reports from customer evaluation surveys.
Uphold LIVE FOR LIFE business agreements with outside vendors.
Assist in supervision of Health Education Internship program.

Anticipated Pay Range:
Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $44,114.00 to USD $70,589.00. Duke University considersfactors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

Education
Work requires a bachelor's degree in Public Health, Psychology, Nursing, Sociology or related health field.
Experience
Work requires three years of experience in community or industrial health related work.
