About Duke Health's Patient Revenue Management Organization
Pursue your passion for caring with the Patient Revenue Management Organization, which is Duke Health's fully integrated, centralized revenue cycle organization that supports the entire health system in streamlining the revenue cycle. This includes scheduling, registration, coding, billing, and other essential revenue functions.
Occ Summary
Weekend position, 3-12 hours Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6:00 am - 6:30 pm
Ability to analyze insurance coverage and benefits for services to ensure timely obtaining of authorizations by established payment. Relationships with patients, physicians, co-workers, and supervisors. Position responsible for high production generated accurately in complete patient accounts based on departmental protocol and data, performs multiple tasks, and is service-oriented, greeting and assisting visitors and patients. Explain policies and calculate according to PRMO credit and collection policies. Implement appropriate work independently. Must be able to develop and maintain professional relationships and comply with policies and procedures.
On insurance plan contracts and guidelines. Document billing system: Explain the billing business processes or regulations. Requires working knowledge of. Must be able to understand uninsured patients. Determine if the patient's condition is the result of research to determine an appropriate source of liability/payment. According to policy and sources. Departmental coverage as requested. Coverage and collection actions, assist with clinical information requested, and resolve issues relating to facilitating payment sources for financially responsible persons in arranging payment. Make referrals for rejections/denials and remedy them expediently.
Insurance carriers regarding authorization certification and/or authorizations as appropriate. Procedure. Enter and update referrals as required. Communicate with compliance with regulatory agencies, to include but not be limited to insurance claim policies and procedures, and examine insurance policies and other third-party sponsorship materials needed for medication admissions, admission, and pre-collect cash payments appropriately for all patients. Reconcile daily to ensure all accounts are processed accurately and efficiently. Compile admit, register, and pre-register patients with accurate patient demographic and financial data. Resolve gathers necessary documentation to support the proper handling of inquiries for services. Arrange payment for the opportunity to work independently. With policy and procedure. The Manufacturer Drug program has registration and registration functions. Ensure all insurance necessities of third-party sponsorship and process patients upon arrival, and inform patients of their financial liability before the attending physician is informed of the patient's financial hardship. Complete the managed duties necessary for departmental statistics for options with the patients, and screen patients for government funding to reflect the insurance status of the patient. Refer patients for budgetary and reporting purposes.

Education
Work requires knowledge of basic grammar and mathematical principles normally required through a high school education, with some postsecondary education preferred. Additional training or working knowledge of the related business.
Experience
Two years of experience working in hospital service access, clinical service access, a physician's office, or billing and collections. Or, an associate's degree in a healthcare-related field and one year of experience working with the public. Or a bachelor's degree and one year of experience working with the public.
