JOB SUMMARY
This Financial Analyst III position is responsible for analyzing, modeling, and supporting the allocation and management of institutional funds across clinical, research, and academic missions within Duke. This role provides critical financial insights and supports the development and implementation of funds flow methodologies that ensure alignment with strategic goals and operational efficiency. The Analyst will work collaboratively with clinical departments, central finance, and leadership to ensure transparency and accountability in financial decision-making.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze and support the administration of funds flow models across clinical departments, research entities, and academic units.
- Prepare detailed financial analyses and dashboards to inform leadership decisions regarding resource allocation.
- Assist in the development and refinement of institutional and departmental funding methodologies.
- Collaborate with finance, clinical operations, and academic affairs teams to gather and validate data on revenues, expenses, and key performance metrics.
- Support the reconciliation of funds flow distributions and track utilization of allocated resources.
- Document funds flow agreements and maintain accurate records of funding terms and departmental commitments.
- Participate in budget planning and annual forecast processes related to funds flow components.
- Prepare materials and presentations for executive leadership, board committees, and department chairs.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Work requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field. CPA is desirable.
- Work requires a minimum of six years experience in financial management, cost accounting or a field directly related to specialized area of assignment.
